All Traveled Out...
Oct. 17th, 2006 01:52 amMy aunt's funeral was today. We racked up a hundred miles on the car odometer by the time we ended up home for the evening. I'm so far beyond tired that it's not even funny.
The funeral home was in a city about 45 minutes from our apartment. There is no easy or direct way to get there. And since Hubby was a pall bearer, we had to start at the funeral home instead of going straight to the church. Now, the church where Mass was said was in yet another city, which was a half hour drive from the funeral home. Then it was on to the cemetery, which, yep, you guessed it--was in still another city and another forty-ish minute drive from the church. The weather was absolutely abysmal the entire day, which didn't help any either.
We headed home after the services at the cemetery instead of joining the rest of the family for a luncheon, as we had to drive my daughter to her friend's house near the college she attends (she doesn't have a car at the mo and can walk to school from the friend's house). So after changing into more comfortable clothes and sneaking in a short nap, off we went for another twenty minute drive to her friend's and then another twenty minutes back. We stopped in for a few groceries and finally got home just in time to watch the playoff game...only to find out it had been rained out. (which wasn't exactly a huge shock, as it rained steadily here all day long) I scrounged up some soup and sandwiches for dinner and then fell asleep trying to catch the House eps that aired in place of the game, neither of which I'd been able to catch on their first airing. ::sigh:: I suppose I'll have to just dig out the darn disc(s) I recorded them on one of these days...
So I'm sure it will not come as any sort of shock when I report that there was no writing progress on anything SGA, SG-1, or otherwise today, unless you count some mental plotting on an idea for an original novel for the NaNoWriMo.
I SO need a vacation soon...
