tielanSo, the reason I haven't been posting is because I've been travelling. And unlike my usual form of travelling which involves posting irregularly as I go, I just...haven't been doing anything.
Sorry.
I spent 11 days in Bali, 11 days in Japan, and 5 days in Hong Kong, and tonight is my last night before I fly back home (overnight, to arrive in the morning). I'll post some pretty quick updates in the next few days.
I go back to some significant credit card debt and no job. And I don't really think a job is likely in the coming months either. Too much AI investment, everyone cutting costs, and the jobs are no longer on offer. It's a hard-knock industry these days; too many people for fewer and fewer jobs.
Luckily for the household, I have about four months wages in the mortgage, and B1 has a job that isn't going to go out of style so long as there are people who need assistance in disability or aged care.
Now I just have to cancel nearly every subscription I have - including the charities and get my tax return in...
Anyway, so far as the trip is concerned, I only have to sort out getting to the airport tomorrow. I ended up having to send a 5kg package back (about 11lbs) - mostly of fabric and heavier clothes - because my luggage was oveweight and last flight I had to upgrade! Luckily it was a mere 4 hours between Kyoto and HK.
Although the 5 hours before taking off in Kyoto sure were fun. More on that later...
