1) I'm a total absolutely hopeless Diet Coke addict. I can drink other diet colas, but give me a choice and Diet Coke is my drink.

2) I'm also a completely hopeless night owl. If I try to go to sleep before 1am, I'll be awake within an hour and up for the rest of the night.

3) I have 3 brothers and 3 sisters, all of whom are now married. Holiday gatherings with only my immediate family can have up to 31 people and tend to be a bit...noisy. *g*

4) In two months, my hubby and I will be celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary.

5) I have never, ever been stung by a bee, wasp, or hornet and am deathly afraid of them.

6) When I was a kid, our family had a retired police dog for a pet, a German Shepard named Satan.

7) I skipped kindergarten and went straight into first grade when I started school.

1) I was a MAJOR tomboy as a child.

2) My older brother was the one responsible for my love of scifi. None of the other five sibs share the obsession interest.

3) In over forty-five years, I have never ever been stung by a bee or wasp (other than sweat bees) and am deathly afraid of them.

4) My husband's birthday is the day after my mother's; my sister's husband's birthday is the day after my father's. My son's birthday is the day after hers. Her daughter's birthday is the day before mine. Out of our other five siblings, no one else (including spouses and children) is even close.

6) I once had a bad experience with shrimp nearly thirty years ago and cannot eat it to this day. Even now, just the smell of it is enough to make me gag at times.

8) When I was very young, I insisted to my mother that I was going to marry someone named Smith or Jones so that I wouldn't be asked to spell my last name all the time. She reminded me of it on my wedding day, when I married a man named Smith.

9) I frequently know who is calling when the phone rings before I answer it (without checking caller ID).

10) I LOVE chocolate. I'm also quite fond of mint. I HATE the two mixed together. It's just wrong. In so many ways...

I seem to be finding a lot of these amusing lately. What's up with that?!

First, gakked from belisse, my letter to Santa. Apparently, I've been far busier than I remembered--especially when I visited Canada last May around MediaWest time...

Dear Santa... Dear Santa, This year I've been busy! Last month I invaded Iraq, broke it, and couldn't glue it back together before Mom got home (-1012 points). In November I helped meliaka across the street (6 points). Last Saturday I farted in an elevator (-6 points). In May I ruled Canada as a cruel and heartless dictator (-700 points). In June I caught a purse-snatcher who stole smileraniko's purse (30 points). Overall, I've been naughty (-1682 points). For Christmas I deserve a lump of coal! Sincerely, katstale

She gave me the letter "J", sweetheart that she is. Numbers 9 & 10 are there because she insisted. Really! ::grins::

1) Jen--My daughter has had her ups and downs lately, but she keeps plodding along toward her degree no matter what life is throwing at her. And getting straight A's to boot! I could not be more proud to call her my daughter and marvel at the totally awesome person she has become.

2) Jack--No, not O'Neill. This Jack is my sister and she couldn't be anymore special if she tried. When my girls hit their teens (and after), she was always there for them when it came to those times when they needed someone to confide in other than Mom. It was such a comfort to me, knowing that they had her to turn to for guidance, and I'll forever be grateful to have her for *my* sister.

3) Jiffy Pop--Nothing is more fun than watching the foil rise as the corn begins to pop. Except maybe using it for ammo in fights with your brothers and sisters when you're supposed to be eating it while watching the Friday night movie and waiting for Dad to get home from work at midnight. Or so I've heard... ::polishes halo::

4) Juice--As in electricity, not the stuff you drink. If you've read my journal at all lately, you'll understand why. ::grins::

5) Jello--the commercials they put out for this stuff never fails to bring a smile as they sing about wiggling and jiggling while the actors onscreen are doing exactly that. The stuff is pretty good to eat, too--though I prefer the pudding to the gelatin. Sugar and fat free, of course. ;)

6) Jordan books--The Wheel of Time series in particular. They're always 400+ pages, but I never want to put them down until I've hit the end. Waiting for a year or more between books is pure torture, but I eagerly anticipate each one. I've even hooked my son on them. ::grins::

7) Jigsaw Puzzles--Nothing more satisfying that searching forever for that elusive piece and then finally locking it into place.

8) Java--The coffee type, not the computer type. The smell alone is downright intoxicating, so it's no wonder people everywhere downright worship the stuff. Including me. And you so don't want to be around in the morning until I've had a cup or twelve. ::giggles::

Now last, but not least and totally because alasse insisted:

9) Jack O'Neill--the perfectly imperfect hero; from the sarcastic wit to the irreverent attitude, he's one of my all time favorite characters. And the package ain't bad, either! :D

10) John Sheppard--No one has ever made me go all fan-girly the way this guy has. From the hair to the leather jacket to those gorgeous eyes, he seriously makes me want to squee! whenever he's on the screen.
