More Progress!

Still have a good bit to go, but we're getting there. :D

Title: Of Madmen, Minions, and Christmas Miracles
Words Written: 1536 on 12/17 (6945 total so far)
Progress: finished one mission flashback scene (this was a biggie since it fulfilled the main requirement per submitter request), finished Rodney breakfast scene, set up to begin the next mission flashback

Wow, I've only got 3055 words left before I exceed the limit. I think it will be close, but I should be able to squeak by--I hope!

Betas: I've sent it out, so if you don't get it please let me know. My SBC mail has been very screwy this weekend. ::grrrs at SBC & Yahell::

LOL, we're close just about! Well, I'm over 6,000 words but I've got a beginning and an end, just went back and changed things a bit and am going through and tweaking, enhancing now so I should come in under the limit well enough.

If ya bust the limit, no one will chop off your head. ;)

Great minds think alike? LOL! It's good to know my lil ol' noggin' is safe from the chopping block--thanks! ::grins::

And hey, I've got a beginning and an end also, but there are still some important bits that need to make it into the middle yet, or the story won't make a lick of sense to anyone but me. :D

I *really, really* want to come in under the 10k mark, though. In all honesty, the word limit was one of the major factors in my decision to sign up. (Not *the* major factor, but a big one.) I need to prove to myself that I -can- write something short for a change. (And yes, compared to my usual, 10k is very short.)

Oh, dear God, yes, short. I know exactly what you mean. I'm approaching 8,000 but thankfully, am finishing with the infirmary bits, have to tweak the end...yeah, I'll be right up against the 10,000 probably but should be under LOL, and *that's* a big plus. I haven't been able to write short in a while and it's annoying having every story go long.

I'm glad you signed up, this is gonna be fun reading! :)

LOL, it's good to know that I'm not alone in being short-fictionally challenged. ::grins::

Now if I can just finish this puppy tonight and get it ready for posting on the 25th, I will be ecstatic! (Sooo looking forward to lots of guilt-free reading time when these all post!!)
