2 New SG-1 Drabbles

katstalesI seem to be in a drabble mood this evening and teh muse has finally gone back to revisit SG-1. She's also been toying with a new Atlantis plot bunny, which I'm thinking I might try to submit to a zine. If I can find someone who's looking for submissions, that is...
Anyhoo, this drabble was written for the weekly challenge word at the Jackfic Yahoo Group:
Child's Play
O'Neill emerged soundlessly from the trees, hurrying over to join Teal'c. "They're there all right. Our guys are in rough shape, but should make it to the gate."
The Jaffa nodded. "Your plan?"
"You take Eeny and Meenie, I'll take Miny and Mo."
Teal'c raised an eyebrow.
O'Neill sighed. "Fine, you take the two on the left, I'll take the one on the right and the snakehead."
"Very well." The Jaffa turned and disappeared into the trees.
Mentally singing to himself, O'Neill followed. "Eeny, meenie, miny, mo; shoot the snakeheads and let our guys go."
"God, I love my job."

Separation Anxiety
O'Neill pulled himself upright, using the bars of the cell for support. The vertigo nearly drove him to his knees, but he stubbornly refused to go down.
"Carter? Daniel? Teal'c?"
He was disappointed when no answer came. Or had it?
The substance he'd been forcibly injected with was causing a variety of symptoms. In addition to vertigo, he was nearly blind. Maybe he simply hadn't heard them.
A distant clanking provided his answer. They were coming for him. Again. Determined, he quickly prepared himself for the coming battle.
No alien Neanderthal was going to keep him separated from his team.

Date: 2007-01-20 03:54 pm (UTC)Still...I like these drabbles. What little I know of O'Neill, these both seem entirely in character with him. I LOVE the "I love my job" line. lol that's great. :)

Date: 2007-01-20 07:09 pm (UTC)The prompt word(s) for that one was "eeny meeny miny mo" and with Jack's propensity for belittling names I simply could not resist. And his attitude toward the snakeheads is pretty much akin to John's sentiments in Sateda (that whole 'killing Wraith sounded like a good idea to him' bit), which just begged for the love my job line ending. :D
