I haven't updated again for awhile, my bad. I (knocks on wood) seem to have finally kicked the stupid flu/cold/sinus thing that had me feeling crappy for close to a month. Blech! So last week I was finally able to start catching up on some stuff that had been left to slide for far too long.
First, I finally made it back to Curves to workout on Wednesday. Ugh, after a month away (stupid germs--grrrrr!!!) I knew I'd be out of shape, but I did manage to make it around the circuit one and a half times. Barely. *pouts*
Then Thursday Imostly caught up on laundry. Holy shykies, I did not think we even owned that many clothes! I swear, I must have made a dozen trips to the laundry room and back, lol. I was soo beat by the time evening rolled around it was pitiful, lol. Even though it was Valentine's Day, R & I had agreed that because of car repairs and the fact that we want to take a few trips this year, we should keep holiday spending to the minimum. We agreed that a nice dinner out over the weekend would be a nice way to celebrate and left it at that. We didn't go out on Thursday night because there was a basketball game he really wanted to go to at our alma mater. I'm not much on basketball on a good day, but after running back and forth with the laundry all day, I really didn't feel like going. So I told him to go on and go to it, as it was the last local game this season. He can't usually make it to the playoffs upstate, as too long a drive and he can't take that much time from work. (He follows most all of the major HS sports, so he can't take off for playoffs for every single one, lol.) So he went and when he came home, he brought me roses! (See picspam below. :D)
Next came Friday and my next workout day at Curves. I signed up for CurvesSmart, which is a computerized thing to help make certain you are getting the most out of your workout. I'd been wanting to sign up since January, but the blasted cold/flu/sinus crap really screwed up those plans. I knew that they'd want me to do a weigh and measure, since I hadn't done one since mid-December. I was sooooo dreading that. But I knew I had to face the music sometime, so I hopped up on the scale, cringing as she moved the little slide-thingie. I swear, I nearly fainted dead away when she said I'd lost another four pounds! I soooo thought I was going to gain! (I do not weigh at home anymore. I get too caught up in the head-games that way, so I just try to make myself eat right and then face the music at Curves once a month, lol.) So that brought my total weight loss since August to a nice, even 20lbs. *beams* And I made it through the computerized circuit twice and not only that, but I moved up from beginner (they start everyone at beginner) to intermediate in one session! As badly out of shape as I was feeling Wednesday, I sure didn't expect to move up to the next level so quickly, lol. Then, as I was leaving, I got a Member Appreciation bag with a bunch of free samples and coupons--lotsa good stuff in there! :D (See picspam below for that also.)
So by the time Saturday rolled around, I was thinking that I'd had a really good week thus far. Kidlet was up and at 'em bright and early, but not overly noisy and didn't wake me before I was ready, lol. R got in from his usual coffee-group session around 11am and had a bag with him, so I knew he'd stopped off at the store on his way home. That's not unusual for him at all, so I didn't think a thing about it. Well, next thing I know, he's handing me a box of chocolates "for just because." He said he didn't think he showed me enough how much he loves me and how much I mean to him. *sniff* Isn't that the sweetest thing ever? *smishes him to bits*
Saturday evening we were supposed to go to dinner with some friends, but they had to postpone and we ended up going alone instead. After dinner, we headed over to buy R some work boots. I started looking around because I'd noticed on Friday that my current pair of workout shoes were starting to tear near one of the lace-holders and found a pair of Nikes that I liked. He managed to find some boots (he's required to wear steel-toe boots on the job) and we headed for the checkout. Both of our selections were on sale, so when she read us the total I was pleased to find that it was significantly less than $100. (My shoes are in pic below.)
Soooo...here are all the goodies! :D

And now, head is not pounding quite so badly and I have lunch date with the kidlets tomorrow. So off to bed I go! :P Hope you all have a terrific Monday!

Date: 2008-02-18 11:24 pm (UTC)I will be on YIM tonight, but tis doubtful I will have butt-kicking abilities back by then. Today was lunch with the kidlets, then fighting my way through all the rude peoples in KMart, then workout at Curves. My legs are made of teh jelly at the moment, so like I said, butt-kicking will prolly be out of the question.
However my fingers seem to be working just fine, so I will be more than happy to type-whine at you until you give in and write it. Will that work for you? ;)
